Campaign

Acorns Children’s Hospice provides specialist palliative care and support for children with life-limiting conditions and their families, offering services ranging from respite breaks and therapeutic support to end-of-life and bereavement care.

Their existing website had become outdated and difficult to navigate, so I worked as part of my team to redesign the site and improve the experience for both families seeking support and people looking to donate, fundraise or attend events. Following workshops with the Acorns team to define key goals and user needs, I designed a new website that balances professionalism with warmth. A softer colour palette and hand-drawn iconography help create a more welcoming tone, while accessibility considerations were prioritised throughout.

Since the launch of the main website, I have also designed a dedicated microsite for Acorns’ “Save the Grant” campaign, which aimed to mobilise public support and secure long-term government funding for children’s hospice care. The campaign was a huge success, with over 36,000 people signing the petition through the site. Following the campaign, the UK Government announced £80 million of funding over three years to support children’s hospices across England.
